- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; critical care experience (ICU, ED, or procedural background) required; Trauma Level I experience required; IR experience not required; first-time travelers accepted 2. Cases: All adult IR procedures including body, vascular, and neuro; hemodialysis access, interventional oncology, vascular disease, central line placement, port placement, embolization, CT-guided procedures, bone biopsy, ultrasound and fluoroscopic procedures; procedural sedation using Fentanyl and Versed; pre/post procedure care; pre-procedure phone calls 3. Certifications: BCLS/BLS and ACLS required; BSN preferred; must pass Relias EKG exam (Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required); certifications not required at time of submittal but ACLS must be obtained by compliance hard document deadline 4. License: MO license — submit without license OK; requires MO or compact (no issuance if tied to another compact state). IL license — must be in hand at time of submittal. Compact — must match permanent residence, otherwise submit for update and confirm ETA 5. Education: BSN noted in certifications/skills field 6. EMR: Epic 7. Shifts/Call: M-F, 4x10s; weeknight call (Monday-Thursday 1800-0730) occurring 3-4 times per 13-week contract; weekend call (Friday 1800-Monday 0730) occurring 1-2 weekends per 13-week contract; may work past 1800 if a procedure is in progress; once per week agency nurse may be designated to stay past end of shift (referred to as "Backup"); every 5th or 6th Saturday 0800-1600 as needed (2-3 Saturdays in 13 weeks); must confirm shift in submittal; contract length is firm 8. RTO: Max 7 days of RTO; 7+ days requires manager approval, including holiday RTO; no new RTO after submission; no RTO allowed the first week of an assignment 9. Returning Staff: 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service required; permanent employees across BJC and/or Saint Lukes must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler; BJC does not permit contractors to cancel a signed contract to accept another BJC assignment; mid-contract cancellations for the purpose of booking a different BJC assignment are not allowed; if canceled at contractor's discretion, must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity 10. Travel/Local: No local candidates accepted within 75-mile radius; no local travelers allowed except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants 11. Background: No specific background policy stated; fit testing required — travelers must have facial hair that allows for proper testing or will be expected to shave, no exceptions; no visible tattoos; facial piercings must be removed or covered 12. Modules: Billable up to 16 hours at $20/hr; completed pre-start via WorkRamp and uploaded to compliance report; required for RNs and LVS; do not differ per specialty; must be started within 1 week of signed contract and completed 2 Fridays prior to start date to avoid delay 13. Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Navy scrubs; wear scrubs for orientation 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Philips monitors Critical: Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing. Compliance deadline is 3pm CST on the Monday of the week before the initial start date. All travelers will float within service line. Must work independently. Candidate must be screened if missing any required skills.
