- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1.5 years ICU experience required; prefer 1.5 years MICU. If less than 2 years, Level I experience is required. Must have experience in a 20+ bed ICU. 2. Cases: Pressor support, ETT, Trachs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, wound care, sterile technique (line insertion, paracentesis, bedside trach placement, bronchoscopy, phlebotomy, esophageal manometry). Preferred: CRRT via NxStage, Swan-Ganz, inhaled and IV Flolan, CVVHD, Proning, MTP-Level 1 Rapid Transfuser. 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS/BCLS required. BSN and CCRN preferred. All certifications not required at time of submittal unless otherwise noted. Must pass Relias EKG exam (Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required). 4. License: MO license — submit without license OK; requires MO or compact (no issuance if tied to another compact state). IL license — must be in hand at time of submittal. Compact license must match permanent residence; otherwise submit for update and confirm ETA. Pending license accepted. 5. Education: BSN preferred. 6. EMR: Epic required. 7. Shifts/Call: Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week. No on-call required. Every other weekend required. Ratios 1:2. Confirm shift in submittal (e.g., 3x12, 4x12). Float within service line to MS areas within ICU service line or any ICU with needs. No block schedule accommodated. 8. RTO: Max 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; 7+ days requires manager approval, including any holiday RTO. No new RTO after submission. No RTO allowed the first week of an assignment. 9. Returning Staff: 18 months tenure requires a 3-month break in service before returning. Permanent employees across BJC and/or Saint Lukes must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. Mid-contract cancellations to accept another BJC assignment are not permitted; if canceled at contractor's discretion, must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity. 10. Travel/Local: No local candidates accepted within 75-mile radius. No local travelers allowed except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants. 11. Background: Not specified. 12. Modules: Billable up to 16 hours at $20/hr. Completed pre-start via WorkRamp and uploaded to compliance report. Required for RNs and LVS; do not differ per specialty. Must be started within 1 week of signed contract and completed 2 Fridays prior to start date to avoid delay. 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required. 14. Scrubs: Navy Blue. 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — Medical/Religious Exemptions Only. 16. Special Equipment: MTP-Level 1 Rapid Infuser. Critical: Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing. Compliance deadline is 3pm CST on the Monday of the week before the initial start date. Fit testing required — travelers must have facial hair that allows for proper testing or will be expected to shave; no exceptions. Screen candidate if missing any required skills. COVID-19 vaccine not required.
