- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required 2. Cases: Cardiac Medical ICU; ACS, Acute MI, Cardiogenic Shock, Post interventional cardiac procedure patients, Decompensating heart failure, TAVR; secondary diagnoses include GI bleed, chronic or acute renal failure, exacerbation of airway disease, diabetes mellitus, pneumonia, and r/o embolus 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; AHA certifications only 4. License: Valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Night shift; no on-call; float to different units within the OSU organization as required; every other weekend coverage; 36 orientation hours 8. RTO: One pre-approved time off; RTO must be submitted with submission and built into contract; candidates with vacation immediately after booking may face push due to fingerprinting delays 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after 6 months away from facility; current OSU employees ineligible as travelers at any OSU hospital location; former manager name should be noted 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking; extreme-distance travelers will be mailed a fingerprinting packet 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon contract signing; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start with no exceptions; unresponsive or uncooperative candidates risk push/cancel 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required; medical exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: IABP, Impella, Activated Clotting Times, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, Vents, EKOS Critical: Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon signing — this is urgent with no exceptions to the Tuesday prior to start compliance deadline. Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted.
