Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of recent ICU experience required; Surgical ICU / Trauma ICU / Burn ICU / Transplant ICU experience preferred 2. Cases: Trauma, Transplant, Burn, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Colorectal Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Overflow Medical/Neuro ICU patients; Trauma Level II required 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; no AHA specification stated 4. License: Ohio RN license required; valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting must be completed as soon as contract is signed 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic preferred; Pyxis / Accudose / Omnicell for medication systems 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift; every Friday night, every Saturday night, plus 1 additional night per week; 36 hours/week; floating required to different units within the OSU organization as needed; weekend coverage required; patient ratio is 2:1 8. RTO: RTO must be submitted with submission and built into contract; candidates with vacation time immediately after booking may face delays due to fingerprinting 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after 6 months away from the facility; current OSU employees ineligible for traveler assignment at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required urgently upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio must drive to an in-state fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet; unresponsive or uncooperative candidates risk push/cancel 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical Exemptions Only 16.
