- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required, must be Neuro ICU experience (not just general ICU) 2. Cases: Strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, depth electrodes, myasthenia gravis 3. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license (pending OK for submittal) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights 18:45-07:15, every other weekend, no call required, float required 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto approved (no holidays), must work 2 of 3 major holidays, no RTO during first week, cannot request additional RTO after signing 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying, disclosure required with hospital name/dates 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at lower rate, will not accept first-time travelers 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start modules 8-10 hours for acute care, factored into first 24 hours of NBO, completed online using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge 13. Travel Experience: Required, will not accept first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy blue and white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: EVD, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, Arctic Sun Critical: Must be available for lab work within 48 hours of signing. Patient ratios 2:1 (can flex to 3:1). 24-hour orientation. Current travel per diem clinicians not eligible for travel contracts.
