- Unit Notes:Hiring Process: Candidate Interview Interview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvement Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted Floating roles: Travelers are expected to float throughout the zone they are hired into. Each zone covers a 60 mile radius from the zone's city center which is where the 60 mile verbiage comes into play. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes this feasible as the requirement to float throughout the full 60 mile zone applies regardless of where the traveler obtains housing. Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely Traveler can't miss more than 3 shifts in a 13 week contract! Can make up on the front and back end of RTO *MUST submit a 2 week notice to avoid back out penalty fee** ***THIS IS NOT LOCATED IN CENTENNIAL, CO! Please read notes below!!*** NO HOME BASE FACILITY! MUST FLOAT WITHIN ZONE 3 -Zone 3 (Based around Denver City Center): OrthoColorado Hospital -10 miles from Denver City Center 11650 W 2nd Pl Lakewood, CO Longmont United Hospital -40 miles from Denver City Center 1950 Mountain View Ave Longmont, CO St. Anthony Hospital -10 miles from Denver City Center 11600 W 2nd Pl Lakewood, CO St. Anthony North Hospital -12 miles from Denver City Center 14300 Orchard Pkwy Westminster, CO Schedules are released 4 6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats: Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week May float within that facility if needed Option B Just-In-Time (JIT): Facility assigned 1 2 hours before shift start via call Unit "ICU Float (Combination: MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, etc.)" # Beds Nurse:Patient Ratios "1:1-2 dependent on acuity; may be asked to flex up to 1:3 1:1 for high acuity patients such as CRRT, IABP, Impella, etc. " Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?)BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Common diagnoses/Types of patients General- Combination ICUs Experience or 'Must have' skills "Must have 2 years of ICU experience Prefer prior travel experience If a 1st time traveler- then they need to have 3+ years of ICU experience & have Epic experience " Are RNs required to titrate drips? Must be comfortable titrating all critical drips Common titratable &/or set rate drips Pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, & more Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Designated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios None; For sitter needs only Hospitalist or Intensivist in house RT in ICU 24/7 "Designated RT for ICU- but may not be on the unit 24/7; RNs expected to be able to assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs. " RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow; Breathing treatments Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? No monitor tech; RNs are expected to read and interpret their own tele Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) "7-7, Schedule is made out by leadership for 6 wks at a time, travelers are expected to be flexible and help to fill gaps in permanent scheduling. All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting assignment" Weekend Requirements 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule Holiday Requirements May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation Is there a call or standby requirement?
