- Unit Notes:No block scheduling MUST HAVE PALS IN HAND TO SUB Limited RTO 36/48 rotating schedule ***THE FACILITY WILL ON GUARANTEE 36 HOURS EACH WEEK*** # beds 6 beds Certs BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, Prefer NIHSS, prefer 2-3 years in ICU Ratios 2:1, if low acuity 3:1 (if more of stepdown), 1:1 if high acuity EMR Meditech Charge Nurse Yes, does take a load of patients Nurse Aides None, unless needed for 1:1 Weekend Requirement Every other weekend Holidays Every other holiday Scrub Color Grey, Navy blue or Black Tele/Monitor Techs No, nurses expected to watch and monitor their patients Drips All cardiac, Sedation meds, Antiarrhythmic, Sandostatin, Insulin Vents Puritan Bennett 840 Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Hospitalist 12 hrs a day then call, always ER doc in house 24/7 IV Team No, has PICC team if needed RT 24/7 6a-9p, then on-call, if a patient starts going south, nurse needs to be able intervene Pharmacy 24/7 6a-9p (the house supervisor mixes any meds that need mixed- pharmacist on call if needed) Shifts 12 hr shifts 7-7; 5 on 5 off, 2 on 2 off matrix. Floating MedSurg or ER (depending on exp of traveler- if know ER then take patients, if not then task) Floor specific orientation 2 days Common diagnosis / Types of patients Afib, RVR, Sepsis, Resp failure, Severe Anemia, GI Bleeds, lower acuity trauma patients, DKA, fresh total joints Additional Notes All ICU in one, ship big medical issues unless stroke in house then will do TPA Additional Questions Must be very competent with vents, or capable of being educated There are health edutesting modules that will need completed the week prior to start. Traveler logs time spent on timesheet and hospital monitors progress. Time will vary for each individual.
