- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; first-time travelers accepted with strong Neuro ICU skill/experience 2. Cases: Acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), traumatic brain injury (TBI), status epilepticus, brain tumors, cerebral edema, hydrocephalus, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders (e.g., myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barré syndrome), CNS infections, post-craniotomy patients, and other critically ill neurological conditions 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CPI and NIHSS preferred 4. License: RN MD state license required 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Not specified 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Nights (19:00-07:30); every other weekend required; holidays required as they fall; floating required within specialty to lower acuity units; on-call may be required 8. Special Equipment: ICP monitors, external ventricular drains (EVDs), continuous EEG (cEEG), mechanical ventilators, arterial line monitoring systems, central venous catheters, infusion/syringe pumps, bedside ultrasound, telemetry, cooling devices for targeted temperature management, SCDs, specialty ICU beds, lift equipment, and point-of-care testing equipment Critical: Patient ratio is 1:2, up to 1:3 with stable lower acuity patients. Unit has 22 rooms with an average daily census of 21. Patient population is Adults/Geriatrics.
