POSITION: Per Diem RN- Emergency Department
SCHEDULING AND COMMITMENT

• Shift: 7p-730a
• Scheduling & Commitment: Minimum (4) shifts per month required. Clinicians may temporarily pick up up to (3) shifts per week; standard maximum is (2) shifts per week.
• Must be dedicated to getting into the lab and completing compliance asap
• Cancellation Policy: Three (3) last-minute shift cancellations, defined as cancellations within 24–48 hours of the scheduled shift, will lead to facility review and may result in a final warning
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• Clinicians may work at only one RWJBH site and must be submitted exclusively to the site where they are fully committed to work; once submitted and approved, a site-specific requisition ID will be assigned, and location changes will not be permitted thereafter.
• (2) Clinical Leadership references from assignments within the last 2 years (Charge nurse not accepted).
• Submission review turnaround time could take 1-2 weeks
SEPARATION RULES

• Prior RWJBH staff must be separated for a minimum of one (1) year

REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Active NJ or Compact license is required at time of submission
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, ITTC (De-escalation training)
SUMMARY OF REQUIRED SKILLS

• Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias; management of dysrhythmias; management of a patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Vascular Access and Infusions: Central line care/management; continuous IV sedation; IV vasopressors
• Respiratory Care: BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance; interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs); care of ventilated patient
• Emergency Operations and Safety: Isolation precautions/PPE; triage
UNIT DETAILS

• Unit Details: Community hospital with a large population of geriatric patients. ED patient mix is adult/peds, 50+ beds.
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Floating: Candidates must float within their skillset without exception. Ratios vary based on census, patient acuity, and staffing.
• Parking: Parking is free in unassigned spots
ORIENTATION / MODULE DETAILS

• 1st day computer training at home on Monday, 2nd day on unit @ 7a on Tuesday
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
========================================
• An ITTC course (de-escalation training) is required for all ED RNs. The course includes mandatory pre-start online modules and an in-person training session that must be completed within 14 days of the contract start date. Completion instructions will be provided directly by ITTC.

Community Medical Center – Toms River operates a high-volume mixed adult and pediatric Emergency Department within a 50+ bed ED, serving a large geriatric population. The hospital is a fully accredited acute-care teaching hospital and the largest facility in Ocean County, with Joint Commission–accredited Stroke programs.
