- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission; Trauma Level I experience required; Trauma Level II experience preferred; Charge experience preferred 2. Cases: General Emergency Department (combined adult/pedi); Level I and Level II Trauma Center; STEMI and Stroke certified facility; wide range of emergency conditions including abdominal pain, acute psychosis, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP, burns, care of ventilated patients, central line management, chest tube management, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, CVA, drug overdose, gunshot wounds, head injury, ICP monitoring, intubation, IV vasopressors, multisystem organ dysfunction, neuro-trauma, procedural sedation, psychiatric hold, seizures, spinal cord injury, TBI, traumatic amputation, triage, and more 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC required; all must be in hand at time of submission 4. License: Pending license accepted; however, if license is not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: May be required to work some mid-shifts (1500-0300); will never cycle off nights into a mid-shift; weekends required (3 shifts in a 4-week period; 3-4 weekend shifts per month — F/S nights and S/S all other shifts); patient ratio typically 1:4; self-scheduling; 36 orientation hours 8. RTO: Up to 5 days of RTO permitted; RTO must be submitted with application; additional requests after confirmation are at manager discretion; one pre-approved time off noted 9. Board-certified ED attending in house 24/7. No floating required within the unit.
