- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required; must support at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years 2. Cases: General ED adult/pediatric ER experience required; patient age groups include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; TNCC and ENCP noted; must be in hand at time of submittal; Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam required — minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms 4. License: DC license must be in hand for DC locations; MD or compact license required for MD locations; pending licenses may be accepted with a later start date in some cases; copy of driver's license required at submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner experience required; first-time travelers must have Cerner experience 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12, 1900-0700; every other weekend required; every other holiday required; patient ratio is 4:1 days, nights, and weekends 8. RTO: No RTO permitted during first two weeks of assignment; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; RTO must be submitted at time of submittal and cannot be changed once sent to manager; one pre-approved RTO noted 9. Returning Staff: Nurses with previous MedStar employment must have been separated a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler; candidates may be submitted to only one MedStar location at a time 10.
