- Unit Notes:Department: ER RN *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC* NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT - Trauma Level? STEMI Receiving? Stroke Center?: Critical Access - # of Beds/Trauma Bays: 2 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Traumas, Strokes, STEMIs, Chest pains, Respiratory Dx, Lacerations - Common drips: Heparin and levophed - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters on each shift? Ratios? Duties?: No - Do you have Tele/Monitor Techs in the ER? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the Tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // Self/team scheduling - Weekend Requirements: Every other - Holiday Requirements: Every third - Floating Requirements: Will float to MedSurg - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1- 12 hour shift - Additional Notes: Attributes that help make a nurse successful on this unit include teamwork, communication, flexibility, able to work under pressure, and adaptability Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
