- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required 2. Cases: General Emergency Department Combined Adult/Pedi; Level II Trauma Center experience required. Required case experience includes: CVA, ICP monitoring, Neuro-Trauma, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic brain injury, Ortho-trauma, Acute psychosis, Drug overdose, Managing violent behavior, Psychiatric Hold, Suicidal Patient, Gunshot wounds, Traumatic amputation, Chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, Interpretation of ABGs, Intubation, Ventilated patients, Abdominal Pain, Asthma, Burns, Epiglottitis, Head Injury, Hyperglycemia, Identifying and reporting abuse, Infections, Mental/behavioral health concerns, Near drowning, Poison ingestion, Respiratory infections, Seizures, Sickle cell crisis, Skin Disorders, Urinary tract infections. Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. IV therapy including Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs. Medication skills including Continuous IV paralytics, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, IV vasopressors, Procedural Sedation Administration. Triage and Isolation Precautions required. 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC required; NRP, ENPC, and Stable noted (asterisked). Previous charge experience preferred. 4. License: Active IL license or ETA required to apply 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 4x12s or 3x12 Nights (1900-0730); no on-call required; will float as needed; block scheduling not available; will work weekends as needed; every other weekend typical 8. If placed on-call instead of called off, it counts as a called-off shift. Facility is a Primary Stroke Center and Level II Trauma Center with 32 beds and an average daily census of 120. Patient ratios are 1:4 for all shifts. COVID-19 vaccine not required.
