Requirements

- 1+ years of experience
- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of ER experience required 2. Cases: Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility experience preferred; comfort with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care required 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI required; must be in hand at time of submission 4. License: Ohio RN license (valid compact or state license) required at time of submission 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: EPIC; Pyxis also in use 7. Shifts/Call: Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; every other or every third weekend; float required; self-scheduling; 36 hours of orientation 8. RTO: RTO required with submission and must be built into contract 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after being away from facility for 6 months or more; current employees ineligible to be hired as traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon signing contract; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions; candidates outside Ohio must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently 12. Pre-Start Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Navy scrubs required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — Medical Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Not specified Critical: 2 professional references required — at least 1 must be from a manager/director or formal leadership capacity; charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted. Candidates must be screened for vacation time immediately after booking due to potential fingerprinting delays.
