- Unit Notes:No first time travelers # suites/labs 4 rooms #cases per day on average 15-20 cases/day Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS Common diagnoses/Types of patients Cath lab diagnostic & interventional coronary & peripheral. Use laser, rotablator, nitric oxide, IVUS, Impella, IABP, FFR, Angio jet. Facility is a STEMI receiving center & do many STEMIs each month. Job Duties "Patient Assessment & Preparation: Perform pre-procedure assessments (vital signs, allergies, labs, history). Educate patients and obtain informed consent. Procedure Support: Administer moderate sedation and monitor patient response. Maintain sterile field and assist with catheter insertion. Monitor cardiac rhythm, hemodynamics, and patient status throughout the procedure. Post-Procedure Care: Provide recovery care: monitor for complications, assess access sites. Reinforce post-op instructions and coordinate discharge planning. Documentation: Chart assessments, medications, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR. Emergency Response: Respond to code situations (e.g., ACLS during cardiac arrest or rapid decompensation). Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with cardiologists, techs, anesthesia, and support staff for optimal patient care." Experience or 'Must have' skills Need to be comfortable with critically ill patients. MUST have experience with peripheral & coronary circ. If they know Merge, that would be a bonus. EMR/Equipment Use Merge Hemo system. Cerner EMR Phillips and Siemens imaging equipment" Cardiologist hours/on call Cardiologist on stand-by or working 24/7 Manager/Charge Nurse Charge nurse during the day & a circ nurse who is basically the charge nurse after hours Cath Lab Techs RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Do get ventilators & have RT in the room for those cases Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 12Hr shifts; 630a-7p Weeknight/Call Requirements One night of call/week. The call crew stays until all cases for the day are done. They will have day off after call. If EP is going, there may be OT required to finish the case Weekend/Call Requirements Every other weekend & weekend call is also every 6th weekend. Occasional cases on Saturdays (rare) Holiday/Call Requirements None What is call response time? 30 minutes or less Floating Requirements No floating required Scrub Color/Dress Code Hospital provided scrubs Cancellation Policy:Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks (Hospital may also pay full hours for a particular shift, in lieu of cancellation).
