- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: No experience required for graduates of a NAACLS-approved clinical laboratory training program; OR one year of approved clinical laboratory experience including clinical rotations through Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the U.S. or accredited laboratory within the last 5 years 2. Cases: Excellent Transfusion Service (Blood Banking) skills required; must cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed 3. Certifications: MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT certification from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS required; must be current if expiration date applies; new graduates must complete Board Certification within 1 year of hire (Louisiana excluded); SBB certification not preferred 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; OR equivalent meeting CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489; OR evaluated equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree by an acceptable credentialing agency 6.
