- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required (18 months general requirement with job description exceptions) 2. Cases: Blood Bank experience required; specimen processing, ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, crossmatch procedures 3. Certifications: ASCP-MLS or ACP-BB required; MLT candidates need ASCP-MLT AND ASCP-BB with Blood Bank experience 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent applications submitted 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; no specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Evening (3:00pm-11:30pm) or Night (11pm-7:30am) shifts with flexible start times for 10-hour shifts 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 non-holiday days or less; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent/PRN employee must be away 12 months before applying as traveler 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; accepted for Surgical Services, Allied, IU Clinics at lower rate; not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, ER 11.
