Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum with 1 year direct Med/Surg experience required 2. Cases: Primary neuroscience unit caring for stroke patients, neurosurgery patients, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, seizures, SAH, ICH, brain tumors 3. Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred but not required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights, 1:6 ratio, every other weekend required, floating required to med surg areas including COVID care units 8. RTO: Auto approve 7 days or less if no holiday; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO first week; RTO after booking not allowed 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months; facility rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Candidates under 50 miles offered lower local rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 8-10 hours for acute care roles, non-billable, must be completed pre-start via online learning 13. Travel Experience: Will NOT accept first-time travelers; must have at least 2 successful contracts 14. Scrubs: Navy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Neurosurgical patients, seizures, subdural hematomas, SAH, ICH, brain tumors Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours of signing. Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week. 36-hour orientation required.
