Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: Med surg patients (no longer accepts cardiac telemetry patients) 3. Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS, NIH preferred; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC experience required (DO NOT SCREEN without EPIC experience) 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights; floating required as needed; every other weekend required 8. RTO: Auto approve 7 days or less (not on holidays); more requires facility approval; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week due to orientation; RTO after booking NOT allowed 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months; facility rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Candidates under 50 miles offered lower local rate; unit accepts first-time travelers 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Non-billable; acute care roles 8-10 hours; must be completed pre-start via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Unit accepts first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy and/or White 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required (medical/religious exemptions only) 16. Special Equipment: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR systems; various equipment including IV start, telemetry Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Patient ratios 1:6-7. Two manager references from past 12 months highly preferred. Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week.
