Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: MS/Tele cases, PCU level patients, any medical/surgical adult diagnosis; may float to ED and MedSurg areas 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; CPI, NIHSS preferred 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred/required for charting 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift, 36 hours only, no call required; every other weekend required 8. RTO: 7 days maximum; auto-approved if 7 days or less and not on holiday; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week due to orientation 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying as traveler; facility rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Candidates within 50 miles offered lower local rate; travel experience required 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 8-10 hours for acute care roles; non-billable; must be completed pre-start and annually via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Required 14. Scrubs: Navy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Standard medical equipment, cardiac monitors, IV pumps, other monitoring systems Critical: Must pass EKG testing prior to start. Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Patient ratios 1:6-1:7 for MS/Tele or 1:3-1:4 for PCU patients. Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week.
