Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required 2. Cases: ICU stepdown, post rapid response team patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-op surgeries, pre/post OB with complications 3. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications required 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 12 hour nights, 36 or 48 hours offered, every other weekend required 8. RTO: 7 days maximum auto-approved (excluding holidays), must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, no RTO during first week due to orientation 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying as traveler; facility rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Permanent address under 50 miles offered at lower local rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 8-10 hours for acute care roles, non-billable, must be completed pre-start via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Accepts first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy, white or combination of the two 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Bedside telemetry monitors, A-lines, BIPAP's, chest tubes, tracheostomies (no ventilators) Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Patient ratios 3:1 or 4:1. Float required to sister ICCU unit. Must pass EKG testing prior to start. Hospital orientation required week one with daily classes. Two manager/supervisor references from past 12 months highly preferred.
