- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor experience required 2. Cases: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown cases; post-cardiac surgery procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, cardiac catheterization 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license (pending OK for submittal) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Nights 36 hours only; 4 weekends per 4 weeks (flexible); will follow unit rotation for floating (not first to float) 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto-approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; cannot request additional RTO after signing 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name/dates employed 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at lower rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Required, non-billable (expect 2-10 hours) 13. Travel Experience: Required unless traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience 14. Scrubs: Navy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required (medical/religious exemptions only) 16. Special Equipment: Arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Patient ratios vary by acuity (1:4 surgical stepdown, 1:5-6 lower acuity). Contract staff expected to work Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events. Interview required for every candidate.
