- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required (must have 2 years experience in large, urban hospital) 2. Cases: Mixed Acuity (Medical Surgical/Telemetry & Stepdown); Neurology and Neurosurgery patients including strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS required 4. License: Nebraska RN License required; takes 4-6 weeks to obtain; if not in hand at submission, start date will be six weeks out 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC charting experience required 7. Shifts/Call: MS/Tele ratios 1:5 days/1:6 nights (rarely 1:7 nights); Stepdown ratios 1:3-4 days and nights; 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in 4-week period 8. RTO: Up to two weeks permitted; must be submitted with application; no RTO during first week of orientation; blackout dates 6/11/26 - 6/22/26 due to College World Series 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Must be more than 100 miles from facility; locals NOT accepted 11. Background: Do not submit RRT and Radiology candidates with license hits 12. Modules: Mandatory charting class Friday of orientation week; 24 orientation hours 13. Travel Experience: First timers NOT accepted (will consider if traveler has 2 years experience at Level I Academic Medical Center) 14. Scrubs: MANDATORY - Steele gray scrubs with Nebraska Medicine logo on back; information provided once confirmed 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Not required 16. Special Equipment: Lumbar drains; drips required (Nitro, Heparin, Insulin) Critical: 100% nicotine free facility. Travelers first to float frequently. Must work 2/3 major holidays. Labs required within 48-72 hours of accepting offer. Contracts must end on Sunday.
