Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required (must have 2 years experience in large, urban hospital) 2. Cases: Mixed Acuity (Medical Surgical/Telemetry & Stepdown); specializing in Neurology and Neurosurgery including strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS required 4. License: Nebraska RN License required; takes 4-6 weeks to obtain; must be in hand at submission or start date will be six weeks out 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC charting experience required 7. Shifts/Call: MS/Tele ratios 1:5 days/1:6 nights (rare 1:7 nights); Stepdown ratios 1:3-4; 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in 4-week period 8. RTO: Up to two weeks permitted; must be submitted with application; blackout dates 6/11/26-6/22/26; no RTO during first week of orientation 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Must be more than 100 miles from facility; locals NOT accepted 11. Background: Do not submit candidates with license hits (RRT and Radiology) 12. Modules: 24 orientation hours; mandatory charting class Friday of orientation week 13. Travel Experience: First timers NOT accepted (will consider if 2 years experience at Level I Academic Medical Center) 14. Scrubs: MANDATORY Steele gray scrubs with Nebraska Medicine logo on back 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Not required 16. Special Equipment: Lumbar drains; drips required (Nitro, Heparin, Insulin non-DKA) Critical: 100% nicotine free facility. Travelers first to float. Must work 2/3 major holidays. Drip experience required. Labs within 48-72 hours of accepting offer.
