Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience required; 1.5-2+ years required; 1 year MS/Tele experience and 2 years Stepdown experience; must be able to read strips 2. Cases: Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit; most patients are cardiac with cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology procedures; also med/surg and medical patients 3. Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required; must be via American Heart Association; copies must be included in submittal packet 4. License: WV or Compact License required; pending license acceptable; RN License verification (NURSYs pulled within 2 days of submission date) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 nights, weekdays, some weekends; typically 1:4 ratio, flex to 1:5 in emergencies; blocked schedules considered for weekends only; weekend coverage required 8. RTO: Limit holiday requests to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays; RTO should be included on application at time of submittal 9. Returning Staff: Permanent employees cannot return as travelers for 2 years after last date worked permanent; current Vandalia Health System employees not eligible for travel contracts 10. Travel/Local: Must have permanent address greater than 100 miles from facility; facility will consider 75-100 miles case-by-case at same rate 11. Background: Previous probationary actions on license considered case-by-case basis 12. Modules: 8 hours average, non-billable, completed prior to start, not included in 16 hours NBO; recorded on transcript and monitored by compliance team 13. Travel Experience: Not required 14. Scrubs: Not provided; burgundy and/or white required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical exemptions only 16.
