- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required (18 months preferred per general policy) 2. Cases: Mixed acuity unit with medical surgical and PCU patients; oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary cases; must have solid neuro experience 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required 4. License: IN state, compact, or IN temporary license required in hand prior to start 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts; float required as needed; weekend coverage required; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO or less; more requires facility approval 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN employee must be away for 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated break after 12 months 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local and NOT accepted for this position; out-of-state residents require 3-month break, in-state require 6-month break to reset eligibility 11. Will see unstable strokes and manage various drips. Two supervisor references required. Floating 100% required to hospital or affiliate hospitals.
