- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; 18 months minimum with exceptions per unit 2. Cases: Post Cardiac Surgery, Post Vascular Surgery - requires strong cardiac/post-op heart experience; Level I or Level II Trauma Experience required 3. Certifications: ACLS and BCLS required 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent license applications submitted 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: No specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Must work every other weekend; may need consecutive weekends; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; call-ins added to end of contract 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO or less; more requires facility approval 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN employee must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated break after 12 months 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; locals not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, ER positions; locals accepted for Surgical Services, Allied, IU Clinics at lower rate 11. Background: Must be noted prior to submission for approval 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: First time travelers accepted; no first time ICU travelers without PCU experience 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Alaris pumps Critical: Floating 100% required to different levels of care; refusal may end contract. Patient ratios 1:3-5 based on acuity. COVID vaccine required.
