- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of clinical nursing experience required 2. Cases: General medical issues including opioid abuse, organ failure, change in LOC, behavior issues, MRDD/delay issues 3. Certifications: BLS required 4. License: Active Ohio RN license or valid compact license required in hand at time of submission 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: EPIC experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s weekdays and some weekends; 3-4 weekend days per month; patient ratio 4:1 days/nights/weekends; float required to different units within OSU organization 8. RTO: One pre-approved time off; RTO required with submission and must be built into contract 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible for travel assignment once away from facility for 6 months or more; current employees ineligible as travelers at any OSU location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at same rate 11. Background: Strict compliance deadline Tuesday prior to start; urgent Ohio fingerprinting process required immediately after contract signing 12. Modules: 36 orientation hours 13. Travel Experience: Not required 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Mixed med-surg PCU unit with 6 med-surg PCU transitional beds; chest tubes, PICC lines, IV equipment Critical: Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director). Candidates must complete fingerprints immediately after booking. Out-of-state candidates within driving distance must drive to Ohio for fingerprinting.
