- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; 18 months minimum with possible exceptions per unit 2. Cases: General Med/Surg requiring PCU level of care 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent application submitted 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; no specific charting required for IU Health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Must be willing to work charge (1-2 shifts per week); charge pay $3.00 bump; no on-call required 8. RTO: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO 9. Returning Staff: IU employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires break after 12 months 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; locals NOT accepted for PCU positions; out-of-state requires 3-month break, in-state requires 6-month break 11.
