Requirements
- Required certification: Tele Step-down
- 1+ years of experience
- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 18 months required 2. Cases: CV Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Endocrine, Oncology; must be comfortable with PCU and MedSurg mix acuity 3. Certifications: ACLS and BCLS required; NIHSS preferred; must be AHA certified 4. License: IN, compact, and/or temp license required prior to start; pending license accepted but must obtain before start 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s or 4x12s; ratios 1:4-5; every other weekend required; no on-call required 8. RTO: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO 9. Returning Staff: IU PERM or PRN employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated breaks after 12 months 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local and not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, ER positions; locals accepted at lower rate for surgical services, allied positions, and IU Clinics only 11. Background: Must note background policy prior to submission for approval 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Not required 14. Scrubs: Black bottoms and red top required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Telemetry, all private rooms with overhead lifts Critical: 100% floating required within hospital or affiliate hospitals. Previous charge experience preferred. Two supervisor references required. Special skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation/management, cardiac surgery care, arterial line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration.
