- Unit Notes:Department: PCU / IMC / Med Surg RN *Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS* **Local Rate: Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility. Client rates reduced by $8.00/hour.** - # Beds: 12 +4 rooms for ICU (average census is 8 patients). - Nurse:Patient Ratios: Ratios 1:3-5, ICU 1:3, IMC/PCU 1:3-4, MS1:5, 2 RN in department at all times. Team nursing with RN and LPN to take a total of 7 patients. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Pneumonia/Covid, Post OP- knees, hips, falls. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: 1 year of experience excellent patient care great documentation. Must have 1 year PCU (MS-Tele experience only not appropriate) or prior ICU experience. Will accept travel duos. Will accept first time travelers. Must have Cerner experience. - Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Amiodarone Heparin- IMCU. Levo, Cardizem, Dobutamine, pressors- ICU. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes, Charge nurse will typically takes a small patient assignment. Travelers may be asked to step into Charge Role. Nurse supervisor covers ER and the floor and a great resource Manager is a past traveler. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes 1 CNA to cover ratio dependent on census (if have more than 6 patients). - RT Equipment:: Vented pt transfer to a higher level of care. - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Remote Tele, RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting strips. Eau Clair to monitor remotely. - Shifts & Scheduling: We have a scheduler that works with staff, self schedule and balance, filling in gaps in perm staff schedule. Travelers are asked to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent staffing. Will consider block scheduling but not guaranteed. - Weekend Requirements:: Every 3rd: Friday, Sat Sunday. - Holiday Requirements: Yes, 2 out of 3 Holidays. - Is there call or a standby requirement?: Yes- take turns for low census/ standby. Put on-call and have 45 min response time. Less likely to be put on call/standby if willing to float into other areas like the ED. - Floating Requirements: Yes, not required to float- other option is to go home and lose hours. ED for tasking or take hold patients. - Scrub Color/Dress code: Any, solid color. - Unit/Department specific orientation: 4 hours CBT and onboarding 8 hours floor training. *MUST note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield.
