- Unit Notes:Hiring Process: Candidate Interview Interview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvement Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted Floating roles: Travelers are expected to float throughout the zone they are hired into. Each zone covers a 60 mile radius from the zone's city center which is where the 60 mile verbiage comes into play. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes this feasible as the requirement to float throughout the full 60 mile zone applies regardless of where the traveler obtains housing. Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely NO HOME BASE FACILITY! "ALL TRAVELERS CAN FLOAT WITHIN Zone 4 (Based around Garden City, KS): Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital -54 miles from Garden City Center 415 N Main St Ulysses, KS St. Catherine- Dodge City - 54 miles from Garden City Center 3001 Avenue A Dodge City, KS St. Catherine- Garden City - 2 miles from Garden City Center 401 E Spruce St Garden City, KS Schedules are released 4 6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats: Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week May float within that facility if needed Option B Just-In-Time (JIT): Facility assigned 1 2 hours before shift start via call Unit/Department MS-Tele Float What units are included in the float pool Mutliple units ranging for General MS-Tele into various specialities from Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, & ED Obs Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:5-6 based on acuity Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Common diagnoses/Types of patients "Population: Adults- Geriatrics Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology-post surgicals, General Surgery-post appy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, stable long term placement patients, and more" Experience or 'Must have' skills "Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years Prefer prior neuro experience Prefer Alaris and EPIC experience" Are RNs required to titrate drips? Heparin Common titratable &/or set rate drips Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Designated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios Yes RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Yes Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) "7-7, Schedule is made out by leadership for 6 wks at a time, travelers are expected to be flexible and help to fill gaps in permanent scheduling. All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting assignment" Weekend Requirements 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule Holiday Requirements May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation Is there a call or standby requirement?
