- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required; 2 years of experience listed 2. Cases: NICU, PICU, Peds Acute Care, high risk delivery attendance, external transports with competency assessment, pediatric ED (Level 1 trauma center) 3. Certifications: PALS, BLS, NRP, RRT required; VA license required 4. License: VA or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: EPIC charting experience required 7. Shifts/Call: NIGHTS; candidates will float within scope if needed 8. RTO: Should be included at submission; approved by unit manager on WOC; no guaranteed time off; no time off during first week of assignment; two pre-approved time off mentioned 9. Returning Staff: Both travelers and permanent staff must be gone for one year before being eligible to return as a traveler 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at same base rate; no radius rules for applicants 11. Background: Facility will review all background hits; ER and Psych candidates require fingerprinting with 15-20 business day turnaround 12. Modules: Average 6 hours factored in NBO; completed during orientation on VCU Learning Exchange; must be completed by Friday of orientation week; non-billable 13. Travel Experience: Unit accepts first time travelers 14. Scrubs: Natural nail policy required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: VENTILATORS - Servo I required, Puritan Bennett preferred Critical: Two references required. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, pediatrics. Trauma Level I experience preferred.
