- Unit Notes:**Important to note** Local Rate: Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility. Client rates reduced by $8.00/hour. MUST Haves: Min 2 years recent respiratory therapist experience RRT NBRC, CRT considered. BLS AHA, NRP and PALS (AHA) required. Experience with NICU and/or PICU patient population, Adult also beneficial Candidate must have level 4 NICU experience including high frequency ventilation (Jet & HFOV), nitric oxide, high-risk deliveries, and gestational ages 22 weeks and above. Must indicate ventilator experience down to micro preemies in a level 4 NICU. ND state license or willing to apply for it within 72 hours of acceptance of offer. General job duties. Types of procedures required: Job Description Summary: The scope of work for a Respiratory Therapist includes assessment, therapeutic intervention, and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications. Job Duties/Procedures: Respiratory Therapy assessments/protocols, arterial punctures and blood gas analysis, ventilator and NIV therapy management, medication delivery, airway clearance, assist with intubations, tracheostomy changes and decannulation, extubations, emergency response teams, ICU rounds, patient intrahospital transport, high risk deliveries. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept: Epic documentation, Omnicell medication cabinet, Hamilton G5 & C1, V60, Airvo, Blender High Flow Set-Ups, Philips CoughAssist, Synclara Cough Device, Volara, Vest, IPV, ResMed AutoPAPs, Radiometer ABL90 Flex, EPOC POC device, Aerogen, Nitric Oxide, 3100 A & B HFOV, Braun Syringe Pump Home Vents (Trilogy, Astral and Vivo), Nitric Oxide, Bunnell HFJV, Infant Flow SiPAP, Bubble CPAP, Sentec TCM, NeoPuff, and Zebra mobile phones. List is subject to change. Required skills and minimum years of experience: 2 years minimum experience specialized in NICU, PICU and minimum adult GF experience. Our first choice would be NICU and PICU experienced therapist but would consider NICU or PICU with adult experience. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required: BLS (AHA) required. ND license (NDSBRC) required. PALS and NRP required. ACLS preferred Shift or schedule requirements: Rotating shifts, every other weekend, holidays with 8- & 12-hour shifts. Will consider weekend or straight night status. Will not work alone, each shift has a charge in adult and children's along with 6-14 other RTs on a typical shift at our SMCF campus. NICU works with 2-4 NICU RTs per shift. Peds/PICU 1-3 Pediatric RTs per shift. Opportunity to pick up extra shifts. Floating to other units/departments: Inpatient respiratory therapy care at SMCF. If interested, candidate can train to BDWY or SU campus if there are needs. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept: SMCF campus: 394+ beds (48 beds Adult ICU, 16 beds intermediate Adult ICU, 189 beds adult GF, 47 beds ER, 40 bed level IV NICU, 8 bed Peds ICU, 24 beds Peds, 69 beds Family Birth Center, plus OR/PACU). Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program: Orientees complete lab orientation with RT education staff and preceptor shifts with the unit RTs. Additional Comments: Looking for a motivated individual who can work independently as well as within a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage quick changes in patient condition, willing to help coworkers and asking for help when needed. Communication skills are invaluable as we are in constant communication with the healthcare team. - All clinicians must badge in and out at facility - Scrub Color: Steel Gray (Peds/PICU) or blue hospital provided scrubs (NICU) *MUST note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Sanford Health.
