- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; first-timers not accepted 2. Cases: Postpartum; maternal and newborn couplet care; high risk maternal; late preterm infants 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, IBCLC required 4. License: Compact License or WA single state acceptable 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC experience preferred/huge plus but not required 7. Shifts/Call: Weekend coverage required; call not required; floating within hospital required 8. RTO: 1 week maximum; keep to minimum; cannot accommodate during orientation week 9. Returning Staff: Prior UW staff must be separated 18 months before returning as traveler 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted with no difference in bill rate 11. Background: Must disclose any background hits, DUIs at time of submission 12. Modules: Non-billable; RN 5-6 hours; completed pre-start except EPIC module during orientation (billable); WA suicide prevention may require additional 6 hours 13. Travel Experience: Yes, required 14. Scrubs: Any color; scrubs provided for OR personnel 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: IV pumps, PCA/PCEA pumps, phototherapy Critical: Must be skilled with newborn care (assessments, vital signs, glucose screening, baths, complex feeds, phototherapy, medication administration) and magnesium infusions, insulin infusions, PCA/PCEA infusions, heparin infusions. Patient ratios 1:3. Two references required at submittal.
