- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required 2. Cases: Combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients; cardiac cases include DORV, TOF, HLHS, Norwood Sano/BT Shunt, TGA, Heart TX; medical cases include TBI, RSV+, Rhino/Entero+, DKA, Trauma, Seizures, post-op cases including ortho, neuro, Liver and Kidney TX, hemo/onc but no chemo; pediatric cardiac experience a plus 3. Certifications: BLS, PALS required; copies required with submission 4. License: VA license pending acceptable; must have license in-hand Wednesday before start date; Nursys verification required for submittal 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Nights or rotating; 3 weekends per six-week schedule; patient ratios 1:1 or 1:2 days/nights/weekends, may be 2:1 if high acuity 8. RTO: Up to 40 hours guaranteed per 13-week contract; unable to approve July 4th off; unable to approve time off first 2 weeks of contract; no additional RTO after acceptance 9. Returning Staff: Must inform Client Delivery Manager if previously employed at University of Virginia Health system; perm staff and internal travelers must be separated one year and approved by leadership; external travelers cannot work more than 365 days regardless of time off; cannot return after working 365 days despite separation period 10. Travel/Local: Select units have 50-mile travel restriction; this unit not listed as restricted 11. Background: Must inform Client Delivery Manager if aware of background hits 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours, excess is billable; completed during orientation; vary by specialty; recorded in Workday 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required 14.
