- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required (2 Years Operating Room recent OR Experience - do not screen applicants that have been out of the acute OR setting > 6 mo. Will not consider applicants that have been in management roles most recently) 2. Cases: Must have circulate and scrub experience; must have strong experience in at least 2 of these four specialties: neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular or robotics 3. Certifications: BCLS required 4. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submission, required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic is most common 7. Shifts/Call: 12 hour nights; no call required 8. RTO: Can auto approve 7 days of RTO or less as long as it does not fall on a holiday. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays. No RTO allowed during the first week of a traveler's assignment due to orientation. RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite 9. Returning Staff: Any previous PERM / PRN / EP staff employee of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler. Must note previous employment details in submission packet 10. Travel/Local: Traveler experience required; locals accepted at lower rate; candidate's permanent address under 50 miles will be offered at a lower local rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Modules are non-billable; Acute Care roles: 8-10 hours of modules; must be completed pre-start and annually; recorded via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Required (okay to screen if no prior travel experience) 14. Scrubs: Provided, Ceil Blue 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Must be able to scrub & circulate. Neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular or robotics Critical: Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing. All testing must be completed within 48 hours. Two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months are highly preferred. 36 hours minimum orientation. Fatigue Policy: Travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours in a week.
