Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of Surgical Tech experience required 2. Cases: 60-80 cases per day; General Surgery, Endo/Laparoscopic, Bariatrics, Neuro required; Oncology and Ortho procedures highly preferred 3. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, NBSTSA listed in skills 4. License: Nebraska license required; must be in hand at submission or start date will be 6 weeks out 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic 7. Shifts/Call: Day shift (0700-1930) with possible night shift rotation; weeknight call 1-2 nights/week; weekend call every 4-5 weekends; 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in 4-week period 8. RTO: Must be included at submission; post-confirmation RTO may be denied; no RTO during first week of orientation; up to two weeks allowed for Medical Surgical units 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Must be more than 100 miles from facility; locals not accepted 11. Background: Do not submit candidates with license hits for RRT and Radiology 12. Modules: Mandatory charting class Friday of orientation week 13. Travel Experience: Required; first time travelers not accepted 14. Scrubs: OR scrubs provided by facility; RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with Nebraska Medicine logo 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Not required 16. Special Equipment: DaVinci experience highly preferred; Level 1 Trauma experience highly preferred Critical: 100% nicotine-free facility with immediate termination risk if suspected. Must go to labs within 48-72 hours of accepting offer. Contracts must end on Sunday.
