- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required (minimum 18 months with exceptions per job description) 2. Cases: Level 1 Trauma, Vascular, Thoracic surgery cases including Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Atherectomy, Atrial Septal defect repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Carotid Endarterectomy, CABG, EVAR, Femoral popliteal bypass graft, Laparoscopic Cardiac Surgery, Mitral valve replacement, Pericardial window, Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery, TAVR, TEVAR, VAD, Heart & Lung Transplant, Valve Replacement, Aortic Dissection. Core 5 requirement: must have 3/4 CV, heart and lung transplant 3. Certifications: BCLS and NBSTSA required 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent license applications submitted; IN RN license restrictions effective 11/30/24 (Periop/OR RNs exempt) 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at graduation 6. EMR: Charting system experience preferred; no specific charting required for IU Health positions 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s, 6:30-19:00; 90-120 hours call in 6-week schedule 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: PERM or PRN employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; surgical services accept locals at lower rate; floating 100% required 11. Background: Must note background policy prior to submission for approval 12.
