- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 3 years required; travel experience required 2. Cases: General OR and Trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience required; extensive case-specific requirements including Bariatric (Laparoscopic assisted cases), General Surgery (Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair, Laparoscopic procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy, Whipple), Neurology (Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion), Orthopedic (Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, fracture reductions), Plastic Surgery (Free Flap - Microvascular), Transplant (Organ donation), Urology (Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy), Trauma (Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA) 3. Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred; AHA and Red Cross only - RQI cards not accepted 4. License: Must have active IL license in hand at submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 4x10s 13:00-22:00; on-call required 1/week; weekend coverage 1 per month 8. RTO: 5 or fewer non-holiday days auto-approved; more requires facility approval; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Previous Perm/PRN candidates must be separated for 12 months before applying as traveler 10. Travel/Local: Must live at least 50 miles from facility; locals not accepted for OR RN 11. Background: Background check hits must be noted upon submission for approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours; completed pre-start; strict deadlines (4PM CST Day 1); first day virtual at-home 13. Travel Experience: Required 14. Scrubs: Provided for this role 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables required Critical: Works all service lines except CV.
