- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; full time level III NICU experience required, level IV highly preferred 2. Cases: NICU III, NICU IV; extreme prematurity, cardiac anomalies, neurologic conditions, post-op care 3. Certifications: BLS required, NRP required in-hand at submission, Dr Browns Infant Driven Feeding Cert required (can submit pending, $185 cost); copies required with submission 4. License: Can submit with VA license pending; must have license in-hand Wednesday before start date; Nursys verification required 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Days 1:2 ratio, Nights 1:2-3 ratio, Weekends 1:2-3; 3 weekends of 6-week scheduling period; every other holiday; float to PICU, Peds, Postpartum, L&D 8. RTO: Maximum 40 hours per 13-week contract; cannot approve first two weeks; no additional requests after acceptance 9. Returning Staff: Must inform if previously employed at University of Virginia Health system; 1-year separation required for perm/internal staff; external travelers cannot work more than 365 days regardless of separation 10. Travel/Local: Select units have 50-mile travel restriction; this unit not listed as restricted 11. Background: Must inform Client Delivery Manager of any background hits 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours, excess is billable; completed during 36-hour orientation; recorded in Workday 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with no exemptions 16. Special Equipment: ECMO, Arctic Sun cooling, Drager Ventilators, HFOV/HFJV, bCPAP Critical: Must have strong experience with high frequency vents, conventional ventilators, iNO, trachs, hemodynamic support, whole body cooling, IV fluid management including drips.
