- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required (HARDSTOP) 2. Cases: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, blood product administration, various other medical/surgical cases 3. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift 1845-0715, no call requirement, float required, weekend requirement every other, patient ratios 1:6 days/nights, 1:5 weekends 8. RTO: 7 days maximum per contract; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week due to orientation 9. Returning Staff: Previous PERM/PRN/EP staff must wait 12 months before applying as traveler; facility rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Candidates under 50 miles offered lower local rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 8-10 hours for acute care roles, non-billable, must be completed pre-start via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Unit accepts first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy blue or white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, various monitoring and IV equipment Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Contract staff assigned to Storm/Hurricane Teams during catastrophic events. Fatigue policy limits work to 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week. 24-hour orientation required.
