- Unit Notes:OSF ITEMS OF NOTE: - Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-$25 to regular and OT bill rates) - OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift - Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION: - Last four (4) digits of clinician's SSN - Clinician's middle initial - Requested time off - Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated - Your candidate understands OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and they must produce a negative drug screen for all panels Department: Acute Care G200 | RN - # Beds: 29 beds. Typical census is 22-26 with a target census of 25 but can flex in either direction. Unit has a mixture of private and semi- private rooms. - Nurse: Patient Ratios: Ratio 4-5:1 (days), 5-6:1 (nights). - Required certifications: BLS certification, IL RN licensure. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Take a wide range of diagnosis on our until GI bleeds, Sepsis, cellulitis, CHF, COVID, comfort measures, osteomyelitis, elderly patients who fall, DVT, Pulmonary embolisms. It s mostly medical diagnosis. We have patient who do leave for surgery or procedures and come back to the unit. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: YES, Heparin only. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin only. - Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: There is 24hr. Charge RN coverage. The goal is for the charge RN to be free of assignment. There is also 24hr. Crisis RN coverage and an administrative supervisor available as a resource 24/7. - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? We do have 24HR PCT coverage and PCT ratio is 1:10. - RT Equipment: We do not have vents. Patients may have oxygen requirements up to 6L NC, stable BiPAP/CPAP at night or PRN. - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Patients who required telemetry will be monitored remotely via house wide telemetry department; unit equipment will primarily be Phillips. Unit has a PCL (unit clerk) with 24- hour coverage. - Shifts & Scheduling: 12hour shifts (7a-7p & 7p-7a), shift report at 7a and 7p. - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Dayshift weekend is Sat/Sun. Nightshift weekend is Fri/Sat. - Holiday Requirement: Holiday's rotated. - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: None. - Floating Requirements: Travel RNs are first to float as needed. Will float to other med/surg like units. No ICUs and do not take care of chemo patients. - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Any color scrubs, staff are to provide their own, no pediatric scrubs. - Unit/Department specific orientation: They will receive 2 shifts of orientation. - Additional Notes: RNs are expected to attempt IV starts and utilize unit resources if unsuccessful, inpatient phlebotomy team is utilized for blood draws.
