- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required 2. Cases: Labor, induction, scheduled C sections, unscheduled c sections, C Section with salpingectomy, SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, antenatal pts, triage pts 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM required 4. License: In-state license required and must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent license applications submitted 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner required 7. Shifts/Call: Every 3rd weekend call required; 8 and 10 hr shifts (40 hrs/week), 3x12 hr shifts (36 hrs/week), or 4x12 hr shifts (48 hrs/week) 8. RTO: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; auto-approval for 5 days non-holiday RTO 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN employee must be away for 12 months before applying as traveler 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; locals not accepted for this L&D position; out-of-state residents require 3 month break, in-state residents require 6 month break after 12 months employment 11. Special Equipment: CADD epidural pumps, birthing and peanut balls, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitoring, Periwatch, Steadys, Hillrom labor beds, Draeger Radiant warmers, Vein light, v scan Critical: Float required (MCH float); 100% floating required to hospital or affiliate hospitals. Two supervisor references required. Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 not in active labor, 1:3 triage or antepartum.
