- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: LDRP Unit with mother and baby care; higher acuity/high risk cases; ~100 births annually 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced), Fetal Heart Monitoring; Stable preferred 4. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submission, required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic is most common 7. Shifts/Call: 12 HR Nights 7p-7a, 36s or 48s; patient ratios 1:1-2; weekend coverage required; fatigue policy limits work to 5 days in a row and/or 60 hours per week 8. RTO: Auto approve 7 days or less (not on holidays); longer requires facility approval; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week due to orientation 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months; facility rehire approval needed; must disclose previous employment 10. Travel/Local: Under 50 miles offered lower local rate; unit accepts first time travelers 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Non-billable; Acute Care roles 8-10 hours; must be completed pre-start and annually; via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Unit accepts first time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy Blue 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Need strong experience due to autonomy required for small department Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing.
