- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required to be comfortable on this unit; 3 years preferred; must have experience with >300 births per month 2. Cases: Obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum and postpartum care; scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births; rescue cervical cerclage 3. Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate and NRP required; will accept C-EFM in lieu of AWHONN 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 12 hour days 06:45-19:15; no call requirement; every other weekend minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule 8. RTO: 7 days maximum auto-approved as long as not on holiday; no RTO during first week; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; RTO after booking not allowed 9. Returning Staff: Any previous PERM/PRN/EP staff must wait 12 months before applying as traveler; facility rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Candidates under 50 miles offered lower local rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Non-billable; 8-10 hours for acute care roles; must be completed pre-start and annually via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Unit will accept 1st time travelers but should have experience in large/high volume similar setting 14. Scrubs: Blue scrubs provided by facility 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests) required; infant/neonatal arrest required Critical: Must be available for lab work within 48 hours after signing. Float required to Special Maternity Care high risk OB unit. Patient ratios 2:1. Very fast-paced unit with double labor assignments daily occurrence. Skills required include circulate for C-section, sterile vaginal exam, immediate newborn care.
