Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of Neuro Intensive Care Unit experience required 2. Cases: Brain tumor, skull base tumors, complex spine, spine tumors, ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, Parkinsons, seizures, GBS, alzeheimers disease, epilepsy, cerebrovascular conditions, movement disorders, neuromuscular disorders 3. Certifications: DC RN License, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; BSN and CCRN preferred; pending DC license accepted but must have license in hand prior to start date 4. License: DC RN License required; pending DC license accepted but must have license in hand prior to start date 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Cerner experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 NIGHT (1900-0730), every other weekend, float requirement within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity 8. RTO: No RTO permitted during first two weeks; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; must be included at time of submittal 9. Returning Staff: Nurses with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for minimum of one year before returning as traveler 10. Travel/Local: 60-mile local radius; local candidates accepted at lower rate; candidate address must match driver's license 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Sitel modules must be completed within one week of signing contract; average 12 hours duration; billable up to 4 hours; completed pre-start and potentially during orientation 13. Travel Experience: First time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Not provided by hospital; any solid color, no hospital logos 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with no exemptions 16. Special Equipment: Ceiling lifts in every room, bladder scan, vein light, bair hugger, arctic sun, nxstage CRRT pumps, belmont rapid transfuser Critical: Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms. Labs and DS appointment must be completed within 48 hours of signing. Two supervisory references required including one from most recent assignment. Patient ratio 1:2. 24-hour orientation.
