- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission 2. Cases: Pre and post op cardiac, thoracic, abdominal surgeries; medicine and neuro-medicine overflow; pre-and post-transplant; end of life/organ donation; fresh hearts (travel RNs will not take fresh cases but will be scheduled in CTICU for coverage) 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH required; TNCC, CPI, NIHSS preferred; All RNs required to obtain ACLS by compliance deadline 4. License: MO license or compact license required; Illinois requires license in hand at submission; compact license must match permanent residence state 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required for certain units; Epic is charting system throughout BJC system 7. Shifts/Call: 1:2 patient ratio (1.5 ratio for days/nights/weekends); Every other weekend required; No on-call required; Float within service line 8. RTO: No more than 7 days per 13-week contract; No RTO first week; Two pre-approved time off periods; RTO must be on submittal and cannot be changed 9. Returning Staff: Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as traveler; Standard travelers can stay 18 months then take 3-month break 10. Travel/Local: 75-mile radius rule; No local candidates accepted within 75 miles 11. Background: No medical marijuana cards accepted 12. Modules: Billable up to 16 hours at $20/hr; completed pre-start through WorkRamp; must start within 1 week of contract and complete 2 Fridays prior to start date 13. Travel Experience: Travel experience required; First-timers not accepted 14. Scrubs: Navy color 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: IV pumps/titration, CRRT/dialysis, Ventilator/BIPAP, hemodynamic/invasive monitoring, Defibrillator/crash cart Critical: Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing. Fit testing required. Strong cardiac knowledge required. References preferred at submittal.
