Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required (MUST BE 2 YEARS in NEURO ICU, NO LESS) 2. Cases: Strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, depth electrodes, myasthenia gravis 3. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights 18:45-07:15; no call required; float required; every other weekend 8. RTO: 7 days maximum for auto approval (no holidays); must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week due to orientation; RTO after booking NOT allowed 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months; rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Under 50 miles offered lower local rate; will NOT accept first-time travelers 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Non-billable; acute care roles 8-10 hours; completed pre-start via online learning, Zoom, webinar, in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Required - unit will NOT accept first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy blue and white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: EVD, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, Arctic Sun Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Patient ratios 2:1 (can flex to 3:1). Strong neuro critical care background required, not general ICU. Fatigue policy: cannot work more than 5 days in row or 60 hours per week.
