- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 3 years of critical care, acute care, or medical surgical RN experience required; minimum 1 year experience required 2. Cases: Med surg level patients; stable patients discharged from hospital to Hospital at Home program; acute care or med surg adult and/or geriatric patient populations preferred 3. Certifications: BLS required 4. License: VA or compact license required at time of submission 5. Education: BSN required; BSN preferred 6. EMR: EPIC charting experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Rotating 12 hour shifts - 7a-7p and 11a-11p; 8 or 12hr shifts: 7am-3pm, 7am-7pm, 11am-7pm, or 11am-11pm; rotating Day/Evening/Weekends and Holidays 8. RTO: RTO should be included at time of submission, approved by unit manager on WOC; no other guaranteed time off; no time off during first week of assignment 9. Returning Staff: Both travelers and permanent staff must be gone for one year before being eligible to return as traveler 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at same base rate; no radius rules for applicants; mileage reimbursed at IRS rate 11. Background: Facility will review all background hits 12. Modules: Average 6 hours factored in NBO; non-billable; completed during orientation on VCU Learning Exchange; must be completed by Friday of orientation week 13. Travel Experience: Trauma Level I experience preferred; telephone triage experience preferred; home health experience preferred 14. Scrubs: VCU has natural nail policy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Not specified Critical: Two references required. Candidates will float within scope if needed. Patient age groups are adults with daily census of 10-12.
